The Great Horned Owl, sometimes known as The Tiger Owl is native to the Americas. It is a rather large owl with a length of about 18 to 27 inches and a wing span that can reach over 60 inches. There are several subspecies of the Great Horned Owl. The following photos are of the Rocky Mountains Great Horned Owl that are abundant in Arizona and New Mexico.
